My Vision Board

May peace be on you, Reader. Welcome to The

Muslim Ninja blog.

You can call me Ninja.

In this post, I would like to formally introduce you to my partner-

Inn-crime, Inner Ninja.  Take it away, Inn!

Alright. Ahem.

I am Inner Ninja, but I go by Inn. I would

describe myself as smart, polite, and

cooperative. I cannot remember the last time I

have gotten personally offended by

anyone. Something I like to do is teach life

tips to others. That is my goal for this blog,

if Allah wills.

In the last post - technically the first post

- I mentioned my vision board. Let me explain

what a vision board is, and why I decided to

make this one.

(See above)

A vision board is a collage of images that you

put together. These images may be things you

are, things you want to be, or things you want

to do in the future. They help you build SMART

goals for your life. A SMART goal is:

Specific: I will get fit run...

Measurable: ...more often twice a week...

Achievable: ...for at least 20 2 miles...

Relevant: ...so I can finish a marathon...

Time-based: ...one day by the end of 2024.

I made my vision board by finding pictures

online and placing them together. It is simple

and fun to make.

May Allah reward you, Inn. That was actually pretty informative,

and I learned a lot. I had a question, though.

Go ahead.

Can a vision board help in making Islamically oriented goals,

like getting closer to Allah?

Of course. Let me give you an example. Let's

say I wanted to pray sunnahs more by the end

of the year. First, make your objective a

SMART goal.

I will pray 2 raka'(s) after I enter the

masjid(m), as long as I am not busy(a), so

others start following my example(r), by the

end of Ramadan(t).

Now create a vision board. You can create it

online or with your own drawings. You start

adding images that relate to your goal, such

as: a calendar counting down the days of

Ramadan, an image of kids praying behind you,

and more. I would recommend images that don't

include faces, like mine. If you would like to

add realistic faces, keep your vision board in

a binder, and don't hang it on the wall. Now,

anytime you need motivation, you can pull out

your vision board. Visualizing yourself

achieving the goal makes it easier to complete

it, if Allah wills. And don't forget to ask

Allah for help, no matter what kind of goals

you set.

May Allah reward you, Inn. And to you too, Reader!

Please share this blog, and comment down

questions if you have any. I hope you found

this post informative. Assalamu alaikum!

PostScript: Ninja 'n' Inner

Oooh, I have a really juicy topic for the next post!

Care to fill me in?

Remember that class I took: Ustadha Yasmin Mogahed's "The Heart's Revival"? Well, she was an amazing speaker, praise Allah! Now I'm super inspired.

Do you want to start now?

Nah, I'm way too sleepy to give it justice...maybe next week, if Allah wills. Are you done with the fries?

Yes. Crispy and burnt, just the way you like it!

Praise Allah, what would I do without you, Inn?!

It is a mystery.

Let's keep it that way.
