Poetry Showdown #2
May peace be on you, Reader. Welcome to the Muslim Ninja blog.
You can call me Ninja.
Previously, on the Muslim Ninja...
Ninja had just signed herself up
for a poetry showdown against two
of her classmates. She managed to
come out on top, but the fun's
not over yet! Read on as Ninja
must prove herself in the second
round of the Poetry Showdown!
Inn has a very good announcer voice.
Thank you.
Me, Asya, and Nene had just finished the first
round, and were ready to level it up. Nene, our
judge, had chosen an unexpected topic for us...
N: Jannah (Paradise) .
M: Okay.
N: Look at her; she's already writing!
A: OH! Okay, okay.
A few minutes later...
N: Are you ready?
A: Let Muslim read hers first this time.
M: Alright.
Jannah
You may cry out when children die
But see in Jannah, how sweetly they fly
You may gape at the homeless man
But see in Jannah, his mansion is grand
You may fear that your sins overburden the good
But see, with Allah, how firmly your feet stood
N: WOW. That's really good.
M: Thanks. Read yours, Asya.
A: Alright, but I don't think it'll beat yours...
Jannah
Open the gates
One yells out as one shakes
Open the gates to your floor
And let us see so much more
Let our eyes be blessed with its greatness
As my feet do not know to be patient
Near it you hear the sounds of heaven
As the doors scream loud from the first to seventh
M: Praise Allah, amazing! I loved that last line!
N: Yeah, Imma have to give it to her.
A: Thank you.
M: I'm gonna judge the next round.
ROUND THREE COMING SOON
Alright, Ninja, which line was
your favorite?
My favorite was definitely the last line, and also
the other one...
As my feet do not know to be patient
What about you?
I can't choose; the entire poem
was great.
Ah. Taking the easy way out, I see?
No. It is the smart way.
Don't forget to follow me, comment, and share this blog with your family and friends! May Allah give you good, and may peace be on you!
May peace be on you, Reader.

Inn, I got something for you, but I don't know if
you'll like it.
What is it? I'm sure I'll like
whatever it is you got me.
I can't help but worry, because no gift can compare
to the gift of being with you.
Haha! Your cheesy pickup lines
always make me laugh. Come, I
want to see the thing.
It is (drumroll, please)... Vacation tickets! EEE!
Praise Allah! You actually got
them!
Yeah, to Pakistan! For more than two months!
How could you afford them?
In the last blog post - The poetry showdown #1 -
someone on the internet gave us '$$$$'!
What was their name?
Someone on the internet.
All praise to Allah. May Allah
reward them, and may Allah reward
you too. It'll be great to visit
our families in Pakistan. When
are we leaving?
Uh... what's the date today?
Saturday. May 18th.
Oh right. Our flight is in exactly one week.
Allah is Great, what! We should
have been - I mean, did you start
packing?
Uh. No?
I- I have to go pack!
Relax, we still have... a week... uh... you're
welcome...?
